Systems Technician /HVAC

 

The Central Plains Cement Company Sugar Creek Plant is one of five locally operated cement companies owned by U.S. headquartered Eagle Materials Inc.  Eagle is a leading U.S. manufacturer and distributor of building materials including Portland cement, concrete and aggregates, gypsum wallboard and recycled paperboard, Eagle has an outstanding portfolio of cement assets with nearly five million tons of annual cement production capacity. Each of the cement plants are highly efficient, appropriately sized and geographically complementary creating a low-cost system for serving target markets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

 

 Summary:

 

To troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and maintain all plant HVAC and electrical / instrumentation systems. To complete specific projects as assigned.

 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Primary job functions are to be the HVAC technician for the plant which will require preventative maintenance and repairs.

  • Secondary job functions are to perform all electrical repair work, preventative maintenance on plant electrical equipment while always maintaining code regulations, good craftsmanship, quality and professionalism.

  • Job will require emergency call-outs on occasion to keep the plant up and running

  • Improve the HVAC and electrical systems by adding additional instrumentation to the PLC to avoid major failures.

  • Make recommendations, modify, establish PMs, and job plans throughout the facility.

  • Recommend additional spare parts requirements to immediate supervisor.

  • Comply with all safety regulations and practices for this facility.

  • Maintain integrity and general look of all electrical and HVAC systems.

  • Work with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, both within your work group and outside of your work group.

  • Troubleshoot potential concerns required to achieve and maintain maximum productivity.

  • Report maintenance problems.

  • Supervise and/or train contractors and M & E employees, as required.

  • Generate work order requests and follow-up as required.

  • Document work order history when jobs are completed.

  • Document all problem solving efforts related to all repeat problems/issues in order to avoid rework and to establish a history related to that problem/issue.

  • Read plans, drawings and manuals to aid in problem solving efforts.

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Section 608 Universal EPA certification

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the HVAC field

  • Must be able to work as part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in their functional area as well as the overall plant operations
