We are looking for a highly motivated professional to oversee the Field Services Division of the Development Services Department. This position is the Division Leader focused on Engineering Inspections and Building Inspections for all privately funded construction occurring in Lee’s Summit. This position also works closely with the Neighborhood Services group for Code Enforcement and Property Maintenance activities. Key duties and responsibilities include strategic planning and program development for the division, direct supervision of the division staff, inspection workload management, and coordination and monitoring of field services activities. This position will work in a dynamic team environment with other dedicated professionals. This position is responsible for the Field Services Division operations, including management of personnel, development and administration of the division budget, goal implementation, and policy creation and implementation.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a directly related field is required. Additional minimum requirements include a minimum of seven years’ experience in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related code enforcement experience. A minimum of three years’ supervisory experience is also required. Professional certifications such as CBO, MCP, RA, PE, RLA, PLS, etc. are preferred. Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
