This position is in the Macromolecule and Vaccine Stabilization Center (MVSC). The MVSC is focused on the characterization, stabilization and formulation development of biopharmaceuticals and vaccines (recombinant proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, inactivated and live viruses/bacteria antigens) for a wide variety of clients and collaborators from academia, industry, government agencies and non-profit groups. 70% Perform experiments as directed or trained. These duties include carrying out directed as well as original research experiments relative to the mission of the lab. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to perform experiments on an individual basis that pertain to current research topics in the laboratory. Design experiments employing techniques such as cell culture, qPCR, and viral plaque assays Keep accurate and detailed records of experiments performed. 10% Routine lab management - These duties include but are not limited to the evaluation and maintenance of laboratories stocks and supplies, including ordering of supplies, management of laboratory records and laboratory documents, equipment maintenance and coordination of BL2 lab safety documents. 10% Write reports - These duties include graphing and presenting data, writing technical reports for the lab, and preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs). 10% Assist other laboratory members with experiments. These duties will include assisting other members of the laboratory under the discretion of the principal investigator or other members of the laboratory. *Required Qualifications 1.B.S. or M.S degree in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, pharmaceutics or related fields. 2.Academic or industrial laboratory experience biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biophysics, pharmaceutics or a related research areas. 3.Demonstrated effective written communication skills as evidenced by the application materials and CV.
