Western Connecticut State University’s Department of Recreation is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for Intramural Club Coaches.

WCSU’s Recreation department is seeking part-time club coaches for the WCSU intramurals programs. Must be flexible and available nights, weekends, and potential early mornings. Women’s Ice Hockey Club Coach - Operate, manage, and recruit for the inaugural season of the women’s club ice hockey team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation, the Head W0omen’s Club Ice Hockey Coach will be responsible for all facets of the club women’s ice hockey program, including, but not limited to  practice and game planning and implementation, scheduling, recruitment of potential student-athletes, coordination of team travel and many administrative duties. Must be flexible and available nights, weekends, and potential early mornings. Our home rink is the Danbury Ice Arena. This is a one-year appointment only. NOTE: The women’s ice hockey team will compete at the club level for the 2025-26 season. The team will then become a varsity sport and compete at the NCAA level beginning with the 2026-27 season.

 

Men’s Basketball Club Coach - Operate, manage, and recruit for the inaugural season of the men’s club basketball team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation, the Head Men’s Club Basketball Coach will be responsible for all facets of the club men’s basketball program, including, but not limited to practice and game planning and implementation, scheduling, recruitment of potential student-athletes, coordination of team travel and many administrative duties. Must be flexible and available nights, weekends, and potential early mornings.

 

Men’s Volleyball Club Coach - Operate, manage, and recruit for the inaugural season of the men’s club volleyball team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation, the Head Men’s Club Volleyball Coach will be responsible for all facets of the club men’s volleyball program, including, but not limited to practice and game planning and implementation, scheduling, recruitment of potential student-athletes, coordination of team travel and many administrative duties. Must be flexible and available nights, weekends, and potential early mornings.

Qualifications:  High school diploma is required. Previous coaching experience preferred.

 

Salary & Benefits: The current minimum starting salary is $45.02 per hour. Additional information on benefits can be found at www.wcsu.edu/hr/benefits/. Part-time faculty (coaches) at WCSU are represented by the American Association of University Professors. All employment, if offered, is contingent upon proof of citizenship or employability under the requirement of the Immigration and Control Act (IRCA) and the successful passing of a background check.
