University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking to fill the Director of Computer Science Learning Center (CSLC) starting January 2019. The CSLC supports a diverse group of undergraduate courses including programming (Java, C, assembly, etc.), web development, discrete math, data structures, digital circuits, databases, and other courses as identified by the College of Information Science and Technology.
The CSLC Director will hold a non-tenure track instructor rank faculty position in the Department of Computer Science. This is an academic year position with the opportunity for additional compensated work in the summer, subject to the needs of the college. Responsibilities are split between teaching 2 undergraduate courses per semester and supervision of the CSLC, including:
· Provide outstanding academic services to students.
· Hire and train a diverse group of peer mentors and tutors for relevant courses.
· Improve operational performance of the center.
· Track student tickets, assess tutoring performance.
· Coordinate and work closely with faculty and advisers.
Successful applicants are expected to hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Education, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and/or related areas, by the time of employment.
