Title: Peer Interventions for Preschoolers with Autism
The Juniper Gardens Children’s Project (JGCP) is seeking to hire a
Research Project Coordinator to work on a clinical trial. We are seeking a project
coordinator for a study that aims to conduct a randomized controlled trial to examine
peer social interventions for preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
We are seeking a Research Project Coordinator to work 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)
on the project. The coordinator will work independently, with guidance from the project
Principal and Co-Investigators. The coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with
the research team members, families, and school staff. Responsibilities will include
team collaboration, data collection, data management, and coordinating assessors,
school staff interventionists, and families to schedule research activities.
This position requires reliable transportation and the ability to be flexible in scheduling
meetings with school partners and families. Strong organization, management, attention
to detail, and communication skills are required, as evidenced by application materials

satisfactory completion of the background check. Continuation is dependent on yearly
funding and satisfactory annual evaluation.
The position is at JGCP, located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas in the
Children’s Campus of Kansas City building, 444 Minnesota Ave, Suite 300, Kansas City,
KS 66101. Travel to sites within the states of Kansas and Missouri is likely required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate schedules with families, interventionists, and research staff to
complete session visits and to collect data (20%).
2. Provide ongoing support and training to teachers involved in research efforts
(20%).
3. Data entry and management (15%).
4. Monitor adherence to the clinical trial protocol (10%).
5. Collaborate during regular project meetings with the project team at KU and with
the team at the second research site (10%).
6. Contribute to the development of project materials, including presentations,
handouts, and websites (10%)
7. Meet regularly with principal investigators, research staff to review project
progress, problem solve challenges, and re-allocate resources as needed
depending on current project needs (10%).
8. In collaboration with principal investigators, produce reports and presentations to
communicate findings and progress to funding agencies (5%).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology, psychology, applied behavioral
sciences, special education, or related field.
2. Two years’ experience working with families and children from vulnerable and
underrepresented groups as evidenced by application materials.
3. Two years’ experience with the conduct of research projects as evidenced by
application materials.
4. Fluent in the use of office productivity applications and cloud-based applications
such as Google Docs, Teams, and OneDrive as evidenced by application
materials.
5. Strong written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
6. Strong oral communication skills as determined through interview process and
reference checks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in speech-language pathology/communication
disorders, psychology, applied behavioral sciences, special education, or related
field.
2. Prior involvement with clinical trials.
3. Minimum one year of experience conducting research focused on children with
autism spectrum disorder.
4. Fluent in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
6. Familiar with the administration of autism diagnostic measures, such as the ADI-
R or ADOS-2.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

SALARY: $44,096.00-$49,587.00 commensurate with education and experience.
