The position is for a 9-month, non-tenure-track, Assistant Instructor position beginning the Fall Semester (August) 2019. The Assistant Instructor teaches a variety of classes in the fall and spring semester across the undergraduate curriculum in the BSW program at the Warrensburg and Lees Summit campuses. Specific courses include Human Behavior Across the Lifespan, Human Behavior Social Systems, and Social Work Practice and Agency Experience. Social Work elective courses will be assigned as needed. Classes are offered during the day and evenings and the candidates are expected to teach fall and spring semesters.
The Assistant Instructor prepares and updates master course syllabi, collaborating with other faculty teaching the same course to identify best practices and evaluate results.
Faculty are expected to use UCM's online course management system. A minimum of five office hours per week to meet with students about academic and professional issues, and grading assignments in a timely manner is expected.
The candidate will be expected to share with other faculty members responsibilities for student advising and program/school/college service including committee assignments.
