The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer is to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, facilities and utility systems of a print manufacturing plant. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Fabricate, repair or modify machines, tools or equipment. - Perform preventive maintenance. - Requisition tools, equipment and supplies required for operation. - Confer with management and production personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. - Ensure knowledge and compliance of safety practices and proper use of equipment. - Assists in overseeing company safety programs. - Directly supervise, assess and develop Maintenance Department personnel in accordance with the organization's policies. - Successfully interview, hire and train employees. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Maintenance experience in a printing or other assembly facility or engineering degree preferred. - Strong communication skills. - Demonstrated knowledge of preventative maintenance processes. - Ability to apply mathematical concepts to mechanical problems and to effectively assess cost and evaluate financial and operational alternatives. - Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electronics and PLC's.
