Reporting to the Executive Director for Communications, the Associate Director of Communications will assist in communicating SUNY Orange's message to internal and external audiences by supporting and/or implementing media relations, communications, marketing and visual identity plans in collaboration with the Executive Director for Communications. The Associate Director of Communications will complete, or coordinate the completion of, a variety of selected College publications (including guides, brochures, catalogs, flyers, postcards, programs and invitations); compose and edit text for a wide variety of College needs (publications, programs, marketing and admissions materials, College web site, social media platforms, and other outreach initiatives); and photograph/video selected College events. The Associate Director of Communications must possess excellent communication, organization, analytic and time management skills, possess outstanding aesthetic judgment, be creative, and have an understanding of image building. The Associate Director of Communications should have a demonstrated and thorough knowledge of integrating communication initiatives among multiple platforms. As a back-up to the executive director, frequent weekend and evening work may be required.
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree. Experience Required: Four years of experience of increasing responsibility in public information; a proven track record in writing for print, digital and social media platforms; experience having designed publications for communications and/or marketing efforts; an understanding of today's print, broadcast and digital media.
