The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center provides crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling and education to victims of domestic/dating violence, elder abuse, trafficking/ sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse & prevention programming to the community. To enhance these essential services, RACC has the following opportunity available:
PUBLIC EDUCATOR (Full time)
The Public Educator position will communicate the mission of the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center while providing education in regard to awareness and prevention of sexual and domestic violence in the community. This position will design and administer outreach and education efforts that advance prevention of sexual and domestic violence supporting the vision, purpose, mission, and values of the Center and will develop collaborative efforts with other organizations to create and coordinate prevention community efforts,
A varied work schedule, including some evening and weekend hours, is required. This position requires knowledge of issues related to domestic violence and sexual abuse as well as a Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, criminal justice, education, or related field, and two years of related work experience. Demonstrated effective public speaking and written communication is essential. Organizational and time management skills are necessary.
