Campus Activities Program Coordinator - Student Center (FSL)
Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Program Coordinator for Campus Activities. The primary function of the Program Coordinator/Campus Activities is to advise the Fraternity and Sorority Life community, including, but not limited to the following governing bodies, Interfraternity & Panhellenic Council.
Duties and Responsibilities
40% Advise Fraternity and Sorority Life, specifically through work with Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, Greek Leadership Council, Greek Games, and Order of Omega

Provide guidance through attendance at general meetings, one-on-one officer meetings, and trainings/retreats

Assist with program development including:
-
Structured and informal membership recruitment, membership intake, and retention
-
Community education. Topics may include: leadership, risk-reduction, sexual misconduct, hazing, drugs/illegal substances, substance abuse, and alcohol, social justice and inclusion,
-
Community service and philanthropy
-
Annual awards and accreditation
-
Greek Games
-
Ensure programs are planned, executed, and assessed in accordance with best practices, standards, and university guidelines;

Attend and support events, including evenings and weekends

Serve as university advocate to fraternity/sorority organizations. Advise each fraternity and sorority to live by their values and standards. Assist students and advisors with problem solving, referrals and program development.

Serve as a liaison between the university and individual Chapters, advisors, alumni, (inter)national offices, parents, and community constituents. Meet with Regional, National/International, alumni/ae advisors. Develop working and productive relationships with these advisors. Facilitate recurring chapter advisor meetings.

Work with the Associate Vice President for Student Life regarding issues, policies, procedures, and incidents pertaining to Fraternity & Sorority Life. Assists in gathering information regarding discipline cases involving fraternity/sorority organizations and members.

Respond to crisis involving members and Fraternity/Sorority organizations

Maintain scholarship and membership records for fraternities and sororities. Coordinate the formation and implementation of policies for fraternity/sorority expansion to include growth, standards, colonization, reorganization and housing.
20% Coordinate the development and implementation of at least two campus wide events (Welcome Week, Family Day, Commemoration [Apple] Day, etc.) inclusive of collaborating and coordinating with stakeholders and university partners.
15% Support general Campus Activities operations

Assist with leadership initiatives, including workshops, retreats, and recognition programs

Assist in developing plans, policies, and procedures

Represent the office when requested including class presentations and event tabling to promote student involvement opportunities

Serve on various university committees
10% Manage and maintain budgets
-
Track expenditures;
-
Negotiate contracts;
-
Order supplies;
-
Make travel arrangements;
-
Administer association memberships;
-
Other associated duties
10% Supervise one graduate assistant
-
Recruit and hire, train and serve as primary contact.
5% Other duties as assigned; travel as needed
Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience at Hire -
-
Bachelor’s degree
-
Two years of experience with fraternity/sorority recruitment, intake, and retention
Preferred Education and Experience -
-
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Administration, or related field
-
Experience with risk reduction, investigation, and conduct adjudication
-
Experience supporting, engaging, and expansion with culturally Greek letter organizations
Screening Services (Background Checks): Your employment with Pittsburg State University is contingent on a satisfactory criminal background check and sex offender check.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Job Type: Unclassified
Appointment Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: Full Time – Monday through Friday
