National Equity Fund, Inc. (NEF), a leading syndicator of low-income housing tax credits, is seeking a Relationship Manager. The primary function of this position is to focus on developing and growing strategic new investor relationships and assist in delivering product to proprietary investors and establishing new Multi Investor Funds. The essential duties and responsibilities will include: (a) Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure the highest caliber of service and responsiveness to investors, (b) manage assigned investor relationships, perspectives and priorities, (c) develop deep knowledge of investors’ goals, strategies, underwriting guidelines, as well as Bank investors’ Community Reinvestment Act investment objectives, (d) coordinate with internal VP’s and Managers regarding specific investor targeting objectives and track Multi Fund and investor-specific proprietary deal pipelines, (e) organize and assist in leading regular investor conference calls with internal staff focusing on new investment opportunities and updates on various fund pipelines, (f) prepare specific fund/investor project summaries and marketing data and in conjunction with internal staff preview deals to obtain preliminary investor approval, (g) after investor interest has been established and transaction earmarked, lead investor due diligence process, track approvals and closing process, (h) once deals close, coordinate with internal department to ensure ongoing compliance with documents and timely delivery of tax benefits, (i) facilitate investors’ cross-selling opportunities, such as construction and permanent lending opportunities and cash management, (j) lead general outreach to both existing and new investors, prepare presentations and due diligence packages, participate in meetings, conferences and calls, (k) schedule annual investor due diligence meetings, coordinate annual reviews as well as review market for various new investor opportunities and follow up on leads

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors or master’s degree in real estate, business, finance, urban planning or related field. Requirements are a minimum of three to five-year experience in commercial real estate lending, development or investment. Prior experience in underwriting and closing, and/or asset managing multifamily real estate transactions. Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) experience a plus. Must have strong financial negotiation skills/experience. Additional skill sets include: strong presentation and communication, proficiency in power point and excel as well as word, work well in a dynamic team environment. Ability to travel as required.
