Associate/Social Services Specialist (I/II/III)

$42,817.92 $46,539.36 $49,506.96

 

Are you passionate about helping people? The Department of Social Services – Children’s Division cares for at-risk children and families by providing family preservation and reunification services, investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, and conducting foster care and adoption case management. 

What you will do:

  • Maintain collaborative relationships with partnering agencies serving children and families
  • Assist families to maintain stability through appropriate services and referrals
  • Interact with law enforcement, other public officials, and organizations 
  • Represent Children’s Division during court hearings and other meetings 
  • Respond to the needs of children, providing transportation, if needed

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • To qualify as a Social Services Worker II: Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care; adoptions; prevention services case management; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services.
  • To qualify as a Social Services Worker III:  Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care; adoptions; prevention services case management; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services.

(A combination of graduate degree from an accredited college or university in the preferred fields may substitute for one year of professional experience.)
