Assistant Director in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences

The Assistant Director in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, College Advising & Student Services, leads advising efforts of divisional advisors in the College, including direct supervision responsibilities for a team of 5 to 6 advisors.  As a member of a large, fast paced office, the Assistant Director, while serving as both supervisor and mentor, also manages their own advising caseload. Working closely with the Associate Director and the Assistant Dean, the Assistant Director is responsible for the coordination and consistency of all advising services within assigned division.  This position also works together in collaboration with the other senior staff leaders to ensure consistency among all advising services in CASS. The Assistant Director leads by example to demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude in all aspects of their role and helps maintain a supportive atmosphere in College Advising & Student Services. As a part of advising duties, the Assistant Director helps create an advising environment where differences are valued and each person is supported.  This position also collaborates with campus partners on key advising initiatives, as well as collaborates with faculty leaders in both assigned departments and departments assigned to their team on issues related to curriculum, policy, and all student advising related services.
