LABORATORY COORDINATOR
Chemical & Petroleum Engineering (CPE) within the KU School of Engineering seeks to hire a Laboratory Coordinator. This position requires a person able to perform highly skilled work in the design, fabrication and maintenance of equipment and apparatus requiring precision, accuracy, and adherence to very close tolerances. The position may provide leadership, supervision and training of staff and undergraduate and graduate students. The employee holding this position must work independently and is responsible for the overall functioning of the departmental workshop. They will also coordinate the day-to-day operation of facilities/equipment in the teaching and/or research spaces. Handling equipment and/or technology inventory and scheduling or loaning processes is also required. Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential to be successful in this position. An ability to explain technical issues with students in a teaching laboratory or workshop context is a requirement.
