ATSU- Associate Director of Alumni Relations
Job Description:
The ATSU Department of University Advancement announces the opening of Associate Director of Alumni Relations on its Kirksville, MO campus.
The Associate Director of Alumni relations reports directly to the Director of Alumni Relations and is responsible for: engaging and strengthening relationships with ATSU alumni, creating opportunities for all ATSU alumni to stay engaged and support the mission of the University, and to help identify sources of financial support through alumni contacts. As well as being responsible for event management, volunteer management, creation and dissemination of digital and print communications, and direct interaction with ATSU alumni and friends.
Major job duties include:
Activities or tasks performed on a daily basis (those which occur regularly every day):
-Cultivate and maintain alumni relationships through personal interaction, through digital and print communication, and over the phone to keep them involved in the advancement of ATSU.
-Draft and send communications (email, social media, print, phone) to alumni to share news and increase engagement.
-Plan, execute, track, and report on 20+ networking/reunion events and meetings annually. These include a combination of campus, state, regional, and conference-related events that showcase the goals and achievements of ATSU and its alumni.
-Maintain relationships with professional associations, hotels, venues, and caterers to ensure smooth execution of events.
-Respond to alumni inquiries regarding alumni events/services; respond to other departments and external constituents regarding alumni information.
-Build relationships with internal partners university-wide to deliver alumni programs
- collaborate with deans, academic chairs, and program directors; Development; Communications & Marketing; and other departments to deliver university news and to facilitate opportunities for alumni to give back.
Periodical duties of this job (those which occur at longer intervals such as weekly or monthly):
-Travel periodically to engage with alumni at regional or professional gatherings, staff alumni/university events, and make alumni visits
- leverage personal interactions to assess volunteer interests and alumni needs, and to assist development in identifying prospects.
-Track relationships built with alumni and student leaders through detailed contact reports in the donor database.
-Coordinate and staff the KOAA Board, CGHS Alumni Chapter Board, and MOSDOH Alumni Chapter Board
- recruit, train, and steward alumni and student leaders to ensure sustained engagement. Collaborate with Development to leverage Alumni Board support of University Advancement goals. Work with Advancement Services and other internal partners to update database and to find lost alumni.
-Coordinate volunteer opportunities for alumni, including presenting, making speeches, and mentoring students.
Occasional duties of this job (those which occur at irregular intervals):
-Participate in student leadership activities
- including student government and Student Ambassador events, new student and graduation orientations, and commencement ceremonies. Build relationships with future alumni leaders and act as the liaison to student leaders and Student Affairs on behalf of ATSU alumni and University Advancement.
-Assist in preparing and monitoring the Alumni Relations budget.
-Prepare presentations for events and reunions.
-Update content of the alumni web and social media pages.
-Oversee the growth and improvement of the Alumni Ambassador program to increase alumni engagement and access to alumni volunteers.
-Maintain standard operating procedures as related to job responsibilities.
-Other duties as assigned.
