Position Summary
We are currently looking for a hardworking, caring, and detail-oriented individual to join our transportation team as a Driver at the International District/Legacy House location. Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude are a must. Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of our elderly clients of the Healthy Aging and Wellness Program. This includes transport of participants, meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other transportation as deemed necessary. The driver will be responsible for overall cleanliness and safety of the vehicle assigned on a daily basis, as well as communicating any safety issue to the Transportation Supervisor.
On-call and part-time positions are available with the potential for full-time opportunities.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education - High School Diploma or GED.
Experience - Minimum of one year experience working with the frail and elderly population preferred. If not met, willingness to train on the complexities of serving a frail and elderly population is required.
Other Requirement(s) - Valid WA State Driver’s License, with a clean driving record. Able to pass a driving competency test demonstrating safe operation of company vehicles. Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date with all immunizations before having direct participant contact. Must have active CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain within 1 month of hire.
