JOB SUMMARY


Work closely with senior, lead or principal software engineer to design, develop and maintain software components and products that support H&R Block business applications. Develop solutions that provide data, analytics, and reports, which support numerous functions including metrics, dashboards and data discovery. Code, test, debug and document solutions to satisfy business requirements. Perform data warehousing across multiple design techniques. Responsible for supporting the business in the delivery of reporting needs; and providing expertise in data manipulation, utilization, and representation for both continuous and ad-hoc requests. Develop, modify and maintain critical business reports for the enterprise. Provide subject matter expertise and hands-on delivery of data capture, curation and consumption pipelines on Azure. Build cloud data solutions and provide domain perspective on storage, big data platform services, serverless architectures, vendor products, RDBMS, DW/DM, NoSQL databases and security. Conduct full technical discovery, identifying pinpoints, business, and technical requirements, including as-is and to be scenarios. Stay educated on new and emerging technologies/patterns/methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or related field.

Two years of experience in database design, support and maintenance to include:

OLAP, OLTP;
SSMS, SSDT;
Design data models for data warehouse to support ETL process;
ETL processing to create data warehouse using SSIS and Azure services;
SQL, SEI coding standards, data integrity, and data mapping;
Analyze SQL Profiler and Stored Procedures;
Production support for issue fixing and access permissions;
T-SQL to link front end and back end systems; and
Power BI, Excel, SSRS and Tableau in creating working models for reports and data analysis.

Willing to provide 24x7 support.

In lieu of a bachelor's plus two years of experience, a master's plus one year of experience is acceptable.
