Guy Hopkins Construction Co. Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent who possesses a general knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction to direct work and supervise crews on construction sites in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
Responsibilities Include:
- Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice in order to direct the progress of work and monitor compliance with construction documents by all trades.
- Obtain and arrange supplies of material and equipment necessary.
- Assist in planning of projects.
- Direct work of subcontractors.
- Identify and report to the Project Manager any project needs, problems, etc., observed at construction site.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain daily log.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and prepare reports relative to the project.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Physically work with crew, as necessary, and perform any task as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
- Maintain proper MSDS log and inform subordinates of safety issues for materials.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, aptitude for management and leadership. Knowledgeable and experienced in many aspects of construction work, including but not limited to, the principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the industry.
- Must have knowledge of training and supervisory techniques, fair employment practices, employee policy and procedure, occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to work.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug test.
- Must adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance coverage is required throughout employment.
Education / Experience
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the commercial construction industry.
