CDL Route Driver - Castle Rock Area

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Drives Garbage Collectors (Roll Off or Rear Load) safely on designated route within municipality to pick up and load garbage and material onto truck.
- Transports load to disposal areas and landfill sites.
- Assists in unloading garbage or dumps garbage from truck Records mileage, fuel consumption, landfill tickets, route times, not outs and times, extra charges and additional route information.
- Maintain route order and sequence.
- Reports any out-of-order accounts to the department supervisor.
- Communicate route and account problems to dispatch and direct supervisor.
- Maintain route equipment by performing the driver assigned responsibilities specific to maintaining your vehicle.
- This includes inspecting and documenting truck defects before and after route.
- Cleaning the dash, floor, carrier blade, and windows of the truck daily.
- Cleaning behind the push-out blade weekly or as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and route messages.
- Ability to write simple correspondence to route and truck problems.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with supervisors and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Your current CDL (at least a class B CDL with air break endorsement), a current DOT medical examiners card, and consent to pull a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be requested during your job offer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
