Gilmore & Bell, P.C., one of the leading public finance law firms in the United States, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the IT team in the Kansas City office. Responsibilities:
- Install and configure network equipment and software to meet business needs as well as document for ongoing support and knowledge sharing.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches and firewalls.
- Support endpoint security solutions including but not limited to virus protection and endpoint firewall.
- Administer intrusion prevention systems and respond to corresponding alerts as needed
- Participate in change management and incident review as needed including documenting. Document changes and actions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on network infrastructure diagrams, procedures, and policies.
- Partner with IT Director on the Firm's Network Upgrade project and other projects in process or planned.
- Function as part of a team on larger projects, and individually provide services on support visits or smaller projects.
- Validate overall network health, performance, availability, security, redundancy, and business continuity.
- Diagnose and report network outages (systems/network/phones) to be repaired and aid in their resolution including ability to call vendor for additional support.
- Maintain Microsoft Active Directory GPO security and architecture.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent IT/Network related field work experience.
- Network experience—working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTML, firewall, Cisco router and switch configurations. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange and experience with VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Operation Systems including XP, 7 and 10, Server 2008 through 2016.
- Cisco CCNA experience required. CCNP preferred or 7 years OJT experience.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise networks and networking best practices including experience operating, monitoring, and managing.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- 2 years experience IDS/IPS
- Understanding of OSI model
- Extensive MS Office experience MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Visio ensuring ability to respond to inquiries.
- Able to work on call rotation.
- Occasional evening, night and/or week-end work.
