Job Information: The Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention is seeking an individual to fill the full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-earning Assistant Teaching Professor position. This position offers a unique opportunity to educate a student body consisting largely of underrepresented populations, many of whom are first time in college and/or graduate school. Responsibilities will include teaching 12-credit hours (4 academic courses) per semester, advising undergraduate and graduate students, and participation in service activities.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in public health, social-behavioral sciences, health promotion, or a closely related field. Successful candidates should also provide evidence of experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate public health students and demonstrate the ability and willingness to teach in both face-to-face and online modalities. Area(s) of relevant teaching specialization and practice experience are open, though applicants are encouraged to describe how they are proficient in teaching a variety of courses in the health promotion sciences including but not limited to: health program planning and program evaluation, health promotion/education, theories of health behavior, health communication, and social research methods. Candidates with CHES and/or MCHES are preferred; CPH also considered. Applicants from underrepresented populations in academia are strongly encouraged to apply.
