HVAC OPERATOR
About the Opportunity
The Facilities department has an immediate opening for a HVAC Operator position, reporting to Facilities Plant Ops - Supervisor.
Responsible for operation, monitoring, repair, and maintenance of all primary and ancillary systems and components associated with facility HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems.
What You Will Do:
- Performs scheduled and necessary inspection, testing, and monitoring of systems, identifies and implements corrective actions and repairs to mitigate operational irregularities
- Ensures proper equipment operation by completing preventive and urgent maintenance in a timely fashion
- Maintains and reviews logs on boilers and chillers to verify inspections properly performed on all pressure vessels
- Operates and maintains the building backup power systems Assists other departments and trades as required, including Cash Department, carpenters, mechanics, electricians or others as designated
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience
- High school diploma
Preferred skills:
- Journeyman`s certification in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical related field preferred (i.e CFC certification, EPA license Functional/Technical Competencies)
- Thorough knowledge and skill in the operation and maintenance of commercial mechanical, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems including broad knowledge of one or more components such as centrifugal chillers, centrifugal pumps, chemical water treatment, refrigeration systems, direct digital control systems, or gas fire tube boilers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints including HVAC, DDC, electrical, pneumatic, and control schematics
- Fundamental understanding of electrical principles and ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic controls
