LOAN OFFICER

ST. JOSEPH, MO

At FCS Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, we are looking for a full-time Loan Officer to join our Traditional and Part-time Farmers Team in our St. Joseph Branch!  FCS Financial is a member of the largest agriculture lending cooperative in the United States today.  At FCS, we seek individuals who share passion for agriculture, rural living and helping people achieve their goals and dreams! FCS Financial is seeking an independent, competitive, pro-active individual looking to build relationships with new and existing customers!  This Loan Officer position develops and maintains a portfolio of agricultural loans. This person must maintain and service a current portfolio along with creating new loans.  Knowledge of farm and agribusiness financials and current agricultural lending practices within the financial services industry is a plus!

This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Reports to: Vice President, Team Leader, Traditional/PT Farmers

Supervises: None

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business or a related field
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • General knowledge of the sales process
  • General knowledge of negotiating tactics
  • General knowledge of marketing strategies
  • General knowledge of financial services industry
  • General knowledge of the agricultural industry
  • General knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Skill in negotiating agreements to achieve the best outcome for the organization
  • Skill in using Microsoft technologies including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to learn and retain Association policies and procedures, and the ability to adapt to new policies and procedures quickly.
  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data
