Emporia State University is looking for a highly motivated candidate to serve as the new System Administrator, Linux Enterprise Systems within the Information Technology (IT) department. The System Administrator for Linux Enterprise Systems serves as a member of the Infrastructure team, supporting enterprise-class server and storage systems, and is the primary system administrator for Linux-based servers. This position regularly makes decisions regarding system design and architecture; installs, supports, and maintains system software including operating systems, server-based applications, and management tools. The ideal candidate will work closely with others within, and outside of, IT to develop and maintain business continuity and IT continuity of operations for the University. This position is also responsible for highly available, mission critical IT systems. Support of these systems regularly requires work outside normal business hours due to systems management, system failure, or other causes related to the nature of enterprise IT systems.
