Customer Service Representative - DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT Doctors Equipment Service Inc, a veteran owned-veteran operated fully accredited Durable Medical Equipment business, currently seeks a Full-Time Customer Service Representative.. Responsibilities: ? Provide outstanding customer service to all customers. ? Answer telephones promptly and courteously. Receive phone/fax orders. Data entry. Inventory tracking. Maintain patient files. Ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained. Billing and ordering supplies. Comply with all standards set forth by HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Joint Commission, and other required programs. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of modern office equipment and procedures. Possess customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, and basic clerical skills. Ability to work as an individual and in a team. Maintain good judgment and decision making skills. Microsoft Office experience. Ability to maintain patient and company confidentiality. Ability to comply with all standards set forth by HIPAA and all other agencies. Ability to deal effectively and politely with people from different backgrounds. Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Desire to work hard and be self-motivated. Additional Preferred Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology DME billing. General understanding of insurance and compliance. Familiarity with medical equipment and medical/healthcare environments. Cash handling experience. Training: On-the-job training provided. Location: 6021 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64110 Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Environment/Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact and interaction with staff and the public, including contact with upset or angry people or with ill patients. Work could be stressful on extremely busy days. Physical/Mental Demands: Work requires hand detexterity, stooping, bending, climbing a ladder, moderate to heavy lifting up to 100+ pounds. Employees must possess visual and auditory acuity. There is possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Employees must possess knowledge of and abide by Universal Precautions procedures.
