Shipping and Receiving Technician - DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Doctors Equipment Service Inc, a veteran owned-veteran operated fully accredited Durable Medical Equipment business, currently seeks a Part-Time Shipping and Receiving Technician.
Responsibilities: Verify materials received are as ordered per purchase orders and packing slips. Routes and delivers incoming items to appropriate requisitioning departments. Receive in, unpack and prepare for issue major medical equipment, such as power wheelchairs. Prepares items for safe and correct shipment and/or delivery. Traces lost shipments and processes return authorizations to appropriate vendors. Provide outstanding service to all customers, vendors and staff. Data entry. Inventory stocking and tracking. Comply with all standards set forth by HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Joint Commission, and other required programs. Assist other personnel as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of modern office equipment and procedures. Possess customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, and basic clerical skills. Ability to work as an individual and in a team. Maintain good judgment and decision making skills. Microsoft Office experience. Ability to maintain patient and company confidentiality. Ability to deal effectively and politely with people from different backgrounds. Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Desire to work hard and be self-motivated.
Additional Preferred Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology. Familiarity with medical equipment and medical/healthcare environments.
Training: On-the-job training provided.
Location: 6021 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64110
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Environment/Working Conditions: Work is performed in a warehouse and an office environment. Involves frequent contact and interaction with staff and the public, including contact with upset or angry people or with ill patients. Work could be stressful on extremely busy days.
Physical/Mental Demands: Work requires hand/finger dexterity, stooping, bending, climbing a ladder, using a dolly, two wheeler and a pallet jack. Work also requires significant and moderate to heavy lifting up to 100+ pounds. Employees must possess visual and auditory acuity.
