Assistant Branch Manager
Role: Assist the Branch Manager in all operations of the branch, underwrite consumer loans, and ensure the department meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals. Assistant Manager should actively participate in the career development of branch staff. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Manager will act with the manager's authority.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Should be competent in all aspects of the FSR, Lead Teller and Loan Officer positions. This will include: underwriting, soliciting, member service, sales, cash controls, vault and audit procedures and Teller Management System.
- Will cover Branch Managers who are absent for extended periods, such as illness or vacation. Coverage will be assigned by VP of Branch Operations. Branch performance while Assistant Manager is in charge will be tracked and evaluated to determine if Assistant Manager is promotable.
- Will participate in hiring, evaluating, developing, coaching and disciplining of staff. Also will assist in monitoring all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures, includes paying and receiving activities and service delivery activities.
- Will be responsible for developing a working knowledge of CUA departments; Indirect Lending, Collections, Mortgage department, Electronic Services, Deposit Operations, Commercial Services. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job functions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Other Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong sales skills and the ability to coach and motivate sales staff. Good judgment and problem solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. General PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to handle and monitor multiple tasks.
