JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
FIREFIGHTER
REGULAR/FULL-TIME
Grade Classification/Salary Range:
Fire 7 -1 $33,661 - $44,579 (Firefighter I & II)
Fire 5 -1 $27,819 - $36,477 (Non-certified)
Plus ten paid holidays, one personal holiday after one year of service, and possible overtime (non-exempt employee).
Description of Basic Duties:
Selected candidates will be required to perform a variety of duties, such as firefighting, routine maintenance, cleaning of city buildings, operate an emergency vehicle in a safe and defensive manner, meet physical aspects of job, and perform other duties as job requires.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED Certificate.
- State Certified Firefighter I & II preferred required within 12 months of appointment.
- Missouri First Responder within 12 months of appointment.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be in excellent physical condition.
Other Requirements:
Must be a U. S. citizen at least 21 years of age by March 1, 2020. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must pass the following examinations and board interviews: Physical Agility Test, Written Fire Entry Exam, Peer Review Board, a background investigation and a medical physical examination including drug screening.
Within 6 months of appointment, the employee must reside within a twenty (20) mile radius or twenty-five (25) minute response at the posted speed limit of the City limits.
