Full-time position available with KCMO’s
Parks &; Recreation Department, Planning &;
Design Services Division, 4600 E. 63 rd St.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday,
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Utilizes computer-aided
drafting and design (CADD) system,
automated mapping, or geographical
information system (GIS). Coordinates,
directs controls, and develops quality
standards and the customization of software
packages for the efficient operation of the
CADD or GIS system to suit the needs of
the workgroup. Performs system back-ups
for archiving and restoring files, as well as
basic system maintenance. Performs basic
engineering/ architectural/ landscape
architectural applications in the production
of project plans for departmental capital
improvement projects. Participates in the
preparation of plans, specifications, studies,
utility relocation determinations and other
activities related to right-of-way and
parkland matters. Reviews and checks
preliminary and final plans for a variety of
capital improvement projects. REQUIRES
high school graduation and 9 years of
related and increasingly responsible
experience in engineering drawing,
mapping, automated mapping, GIS and
equipment or CADD, engineering, land
the survey, construction inspection and related
fields; OR high school graduation and
possession of the Level III Certification as
Engineering Technician (ET) as issued by
the National Institute for Certification in
Engineering Technologies (NICET) or a
Registered Land Surveyor's License as
issued by the MO Board for Architects,
Professional Engineers, Professional Land
Surveyors, and Professional Landscape
Architects OR an acceptable combination of
qualifying education and experience. Must
possess a valid state-issued driver’s license
in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
and post-offer physical examination as
prescribed by the City. Salary Range:
