Full-time position available with KCMO’s General Services Department, Facilities Division, 414 E. 12th St. Normal Work Days/Hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., may vary. Manages of all aspects of physical security on a 24/7 basis. Develops, implements, and administers plans and policies for a comprehensive City-wide security program and evaluates its effectiveness. Handles the department budget and administration. Supervises the analysis of current municipal security functions and develops new and revised policies and procedures to provide optimal protection for associates, visitors and municipal property. Assists subordinate supervisors in planning, scheduling, monitoring and training of departmental staff to assure that all phases of security function are accomplished efficiently, professionally and on schedule. Confers and advises departmental staff on problems and projects relating to security issues and advises and consults with municipal officials, other departments, professional and civic organizations and other resources concerning security issues. Supervision is exercised over subordinate security staff and other related personnel and vendors. Provides exemplary customer service to all levels of personnel. REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree in administration of justice, business or public administration or a related field and 5 years of experience in law enforcement or security work, including 2 years of experience in managing or supervising a security function which utilized closed circuit television monitoring. Must possess a Class A security license. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a special police commission as issued by the KCMO Police Department. Salary Range: $4,230-$7,385/month.
