Full-time position availablewith KCMO’s Public Works Department, Capital Projects Division, 414 E. 12th St.will be filled as a Senior Registered Engineer ($4,945-$8,746/month) OR Senior Analyst $4,945-$8,746/month) (OR Registered Engineer ($4,531-$7,459/month) OR Principal Engineering Technician ($3,957-$6,702/month).Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.Coordinates with utility companies, subsurface utility engineers (SUE), in-house designers, and other design & construction personnel to identify utility locations on planned Public Works projects & prevents, mitigates and eliminates conflicts. Tracks utility notification submittals by the SUE (designer) and utility company responses. Develops utility relocation agreement contracts and provides periodic updates to project managers. When utility relocation work during construction is unavoidable, helps develop contract language that informs the contractor about the utility companies’ plans, phasing, and estimated timeline so that a realistic work schedule can be orchestrated by the contractor. Coordinates utility facility complaint investigations in support of existing City policies & standards and assists in updating regulations pertaining to utility facilities within the public right-of-way. Schedules, coordinates, and leads the City’s monthly Utility Liaison Coordination Committee (ULCC) meetings and serves as the City’s primary liaison with the railroads, holding quarterly meetings with each company. Senior Registered Engineer REQUIRES 2 years of progressively responsible experience as a Registered Engineer. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with MO Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City. Senior Analyst REQUIRES an accredited Master’s degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance or a related field and 3 (OR an accredited Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned fields and 5) years of progressively responsible, professional experience in public or business administration, corporate or municipal finance, budget, research, accounting or a related field, including 2 years of experience at the City’s Analyst level. Registered Engineer REQUIRES professional engineer registration. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with MO Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City. Principal Engineering Technician REQUIRES high school graduation and 12 years of related and increasingly responsible experience in engineering drawing, mapping, automated mapping, GIS and equipment or CADD; engineering, land survey, construction inspection and related fields; OR high school graduation and possession of the Level IV Certification as “Engineering Technician (ET)” as issued by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or a Registered Land Surveyor’s License as issued by the MO Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects; OR an acceptable combination of education and experience.
