Full-time position available with KCMO’s Health Department, Healthy Homes Division, 2400 Troost. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. As a condition of employment with the City of Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, all new employees will be required to submit or provide documentation of receiving an influenza (Flu) Vaccination. Performs quarterly reviews and annual evaluations of all field staff. Maintains the implementation of the Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program through continuous evaluation of housing trends and policies throughout the country. Responds to difficult situations and complaints as it relates to health and safety in rental housing units. Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of the Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program. Maintains all assigned aspects of Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program and the education and inspection activities. Assists in supervising and planning of the Program including, but not limited to, budget and personnel requirements. Serves as a member of the Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Advisory Board. Maintains the collection, recording, and analysis of information and other data pertinent to the field of public health and health issues related to housing. REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of responsible health related experience in the fields of public health with the federal, state or local government or in the private health sector, including 1 year at a level comparable to the City's Public Health Specialist II; OR an accredited Master’s degree and 2 years of responsible health related experience in the fields of public health with the federal, state or local government or in the private health sector, including one 1 year at a level comparable to the City's Public Health Specialist II; OR a doctorate in veterinary science, health education or public health or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.); OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience, including 2 years of experience at the level of the City's Public Health Specialist II. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
