Full-time position available with KCMO’s Human Relations Department,Minority, Women & Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Division (MWDBE)Division, 414 E. 12th St.Will be filled either as Senior Human Relations Specialist, Human Relations Specialist, or Municipal Management Trainee.Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Certifies Minority, Women & Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBE) and ensures MWDBE affirmative action compliance in contracts and workforce. Processes MWDBE goals and Contract Utilization Plans(CUPs). Must demonstrate excellent writing, communication and computer skills as well as good customer service and organizational skills. Works in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT). Establishes effective relationships with developers, contractors, unions, government officials, civic leaders and the general public.Senior Human Relations Specialist REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 (OR an accredited Master’s degree and 2) years of professional experience a legal firm, governmental agency, intergroup relations or related area of work involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation; alternative dispute resolution; analyzing affirmative action programs and MBE/WBE programs which promotes understanding among people regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation, including 2 years at the level of the City’s Human Relations Specialist. Human Relations Specialist REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience at a legal firm, governmental agency, intergroup relations, public relations, education, social work, or related area of work involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation; alternative dispute resolution; analyzing affirmative action programs and MBE/WBE programs which promotes understanding among people regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Municipal Management Trainee REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree.Salary Range: Senior Human Relations Specialist: $4,230-$7,459/month; Human Relations Specialist: $19.34-$33.55/hour; Municipal Management Trainee: $18.24-$29.15/hour.
