Full-time positionavailable with KCMO’s City Planning & Development Department, Land Development Division, 414 East 12th Street. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Provides technical support to the Engineering Services group as part of the Plan Review staff. Processes easements and agreements associated with land development projects for acceptance by the City. Processes Arterial Street Impact Fee credit transfers and payments. Verifies project assignments and assists with coordination of plan review comments for plats, street grading, paving, curbs, driveways and sidewalks, sanitary and storm sewer, and site disturbance activities involving erosion and sediment control measures. Prepares project reports indicating completeness, status, and as-built asset status. Coordinates with developers, engineers, contractors and other City departments to resolve non-compliance issues, and to ensure process moves efficiently forward to conclusion. Researches map, records, plans, and prior processes to support project data management, using the CompassKC or similar system. Prepares files to be archived. The duties also involve protecting the City's interests concerning right-of-way, easements, and issuance of permits that allow the construction and operation of systems and services fundamental to the makeup of the City. REQUIRES high school graduation and 5 years of related and increasingly responsible experience in engineering drawing, mapping, automated mapping, GIS and equipment, CADD, engineering, land survey, construction inspection and related fields; OR high school graduation and 2 years of experience at the level of Engineering Technician and possession of either the Level II Certification as Associate Engineering Technician (AET) as issued by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or the Land Surveyor in Training as issued by the Missouri Board of Architects, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.Salary Range: $18.24-$29.15/hour.
