Full-time position available with KCMO’s Health Department, Finance Division,2400 Troost. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday,8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.Monitors Accounts Receivables for the Health Department. Processes the grant billings including reconciling the monthly billings, running projections, and pulling backup for the grant invoices, and assisting in audit related assignments. Enters journals and budget transfers, takes care of duplicating requests, filing, assists with inventory, and acts as backup for other Accountant II’s. Monitoring Accounts Receivables includes entering deposits, verifying receipts from ETF payments, matching deposits to grant invoices, researching payments, and filing. Backup duties include creating requisitions, placing orders, paying invoices, managing office supplies, making sure vouchers are paid, pulling payroll reports and converting payroll data to Access forms and balancing reports, pickup up checks from downtown, and other duties as assigned. REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 2 years of experience in entry-level, professional accounting work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Preference given for experience in cost accounting and/or payroll, 10 key by touch, and intermediate Excel experience.Salary Range: $19.34-$33.21/hour.
