Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Planning and Engineering Division,
601 Brasilia Ave., KCI Airport.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
This is highly responsible managerial position in the Planning and Engineering division of the airport. The work in this position requires the application of extensive planning and engineering principles and practices relating to airport design and construction. Responsibilities include organize and direct administration of the assigned work related to the operation and maintenance; directs contractors, company supervisors and personnel of construction projects. Reviews and ensures proper adherence to Aviation drawings and specifications for existing facilities and new terminal projects. Management and on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure on-time and on-budget for the betterment of the Aviation Department, examples include, roadways, bridges, drainage, paving, parking lots, airfield paving, runways, taxiways, and all facilities at both airports. This position manages the activities, tasks, and construction projects for all the property at KCI and Charles B Wheeler downtown airports. This position consults with Project Managers and Deputy Director to communicate any critical or shortfalls in funding or schedule requirements of the projects. Manages and coordinates with ATCT (air traffic control tower), Operations, FAA, TSA, OHB tenants, air cargo tenants and all construction companies to maintain the policies and planning /engineering principles related to the airport design and construction (existing facilities and new terminal needs). This position needs experience with design, construction, management and installation of major aviation projects.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, airport management, engineering, or a related field and five (5) years managing a division or significant business function within the Aviation department or industry, including three (3) years at the level of Aviation Manager OR An equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must successfully complete a 10-year FAA background check.
Salary Range: $7,268 – 10,902/month.
