Full-time position available with the City Health Department, Combat Grant Division, 2400 Troost.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies, telework available can be discussed with supervisor. We are looking for candidates that have experience and/or specific interest or willingness to work with adults close to gun violence. Client Advocates work to provide social services to clients that are high risk to violence. By connecting their clients to needed social services, client advocates will work to reduce their client’s risk of violence and subsequently help to reduce citywide levels of violence. Client advocates provide direct services and case management. Assists in connecting clients to resources such as job placement, educational services, substance abuse programs, and health care. Client advocates are instrumental to the Partners for Peace collaboration. Assists in ensuring that clients identified by Partners for Peace receive the services that they need. Client advocates are comfortable working with and engaging in communities that are plagued by violence. Client advocates must be comfortable doing outreach to survivors of violence and even individuals potentially participating in violence.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour
