Two full-time positions available with the Health Department, Immigration/Immunization Clinic & Tuberculosis Clinic, 2400 Troost.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 10 Hour Shift.
As a condition of employment with the City of KCMO Health Department, all new employees will be required to submit or provide documentation of receiving an influenza (Flu) Vaccination. Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): Taking medical histories, explains treatment procedures to patients, and prepares patients for examinations. Assists the Nurse/Physician during examinations. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens Performs basic laboratory tests. Instructs patients about medication and special instructions. Prepares and administers medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a Physician or Registered Nurse. Transmitting prescription refills as directed Phlebotomy Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): Using computer applications, answering telephones, welcoming patients, updating and filing patient medical records, coding and filling out forms, and scheduling appointments. Assists with hospital admissions and laboratory services. Handles correspondences.
REQUIRES high school graduation and 1 year of experience in a clinical health setting performing medical assistant duties; OR completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen prescribed by the city.
Salary Range: $17.35-$26.47/hour
