Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Environmental Management Division, 601 Brasilia Ave., KCI Airport.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ensures the Aviation Department is aware and in compliance with environmental regulations, laws, city policies and promote sustainability. Manages and directs the Aviation Environmental Division and Staff. Participates in KCMO Green Teams. Handles the environmental permits by filing, negotiating permits, legal MDNR letters of warning/violations correspondence, maintaining compliance- efiling monthly sample results, develops and implements corrective action plans, manages environmental contractors. Manages and mentors Aviation environmental personnel. Promotes sustainability in Aviation projects and programs. Provides environmental oversight/support to Kansas City International Airport and Charles B Wheeler airport.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree with major course work in an environmentally related field such as environmental science, and related physical and life sciences, environmental engineering, and related engineering specializations, environmental law and related legal specialization’s; agricultural and horticultural sciences, geology, environmental studies and related management and public administration specialization’s; supplemented by a graduate degree in an environmentally related area: and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience as an environmental professional; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must successfully complete a 10-year FAA background check. 

Salary Range: $5,794 – 8,833/month.
