SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Full-time position available with Municipal Court, Finance Division, 511 East 11th Street.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Covers all phases of account maintenance, auditing, expenditure control of financial transactions of the Municipal Court, general oversight of economic trends, and assisting the fiscal officer with budget preparation and management. Oversees all the department revenues, ensure they are deposited correctly, review all contracts and their budgetary impacts, assist in grant/project management, and review ordinances. Assists in the fiscal year-end, grant, and bond reconciliations. Serves as a backup for all financial-related duties when people are absent, including acting as a fiscal officer in the absence of that person. Enters payments, deposits, journal vouchers, and budget transfers.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 5 years professional experience in governmental or business accounting, including 2 years of intermediate professional accounting at the level of the City's Accountant II; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month.
