One full-time position and one Limited-Term Merit position available with Municipal Court, Probation Division, 511 E. 11th St. Limited-Term Merit position will end September 30, 2023.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Drug Court: Supervises individuals on drug court participants including following up to determine compliance with the condition of probation or bond, recommending incentives, sanctions, or continuation of probation. Interviews and visits with clients, their families, attorneys, and other individuals to investigate factors affecting the success of those seeking or already placed into drug court. Establish and maintain chronological supervision records for each assigned participant. Formulates treatment recommendations and present written and verbal recommendations as necessary. Evaluates participants to determine the best course of treatment, discuss treatment options with participants, arrange treatment programs, supervise participants and monitor their progress. Administers and/or observe breathalyzer and urinalysis testing. Processes urinalysis utilizing onsite laboratory equipment. Investigates violations, and under close supervision takes the appropriate action. Prepares and maintains statistical and other written reports. Maintains communication and rapport with community supports such as transitional housing, treatment facilities, and other resources supporting the drug court program. Utilizes computer software applications such as word processing, database, and spreadsheet as well as IMDS Plus and LeWEB.
Probation: Administers evidence-based risk assessment tools to determine appropriateness and eligibility of programming. Holds scheduled probation review meetings as ordered by the Court or based upon individual needs determined by an evidence-based assessment tool. Performs urinalysis observation and testing through the Court’s inhouse lab. Manages multiple calendars and schedules. Knowledgeable of community resources in order to make referrals and coordinate treatment and care for the individual. Interprets rules, regulations and policies and to make independent decisions. Performs administrative detail independently, including the composition of important letters, memoranda and reports. Maintains and keeps complex records files. Represents court in a professional and ethical manner in all interactions with judges, prosecutors, attorneys, court personnel, community partners, and others. Composes violation reports and submit status updates for the Court as needed. Communicates information with citizens, private agencies, attorneys and court staff; can collect, analyze interpret information and have good communication skills both oral and written. Performs work under general supervision. Exercises broad discretion while performing daily tasks. Work performed may also be governed by strict security and confidentiality.
REQUIRES Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, social work, or a related field and 3 years of professional experience. Drug Court Preference given to individuals with court, probation, or case management experience and/or bilingual in English and Spanish. Probation: Preference given for case management software experience.
Salary Range: $20.48-$30.71/hour.
