Full-time position available with KCMO’s City Planning & Development Department,
Land Development Division, 414 E. 12th St.
Normal Work Days/Hours, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Provides technical support to Engineering Services as part of the Land Development Plan Review staff. Receives and reviews public and private infrastructure plan submittals, verifies required documents and builds invoices. Prepares permits associated with land development projects for issuance. Processes easements/agreements associated with land development projects for acceptance by the City. Processes agreements, easements, and other documents for routing for signatures to City staff. Processes Arterial Street Impact Fee credit transfers/payments. Reviews minor infrastructure plans, specifications, and calculations for public and private infrastructure applications to ensure compliance prior to the issuance of permits. Assists with the coordination of plan review comments for plats, street grading, paving, curbs, driveways, sidewalks, street lighting, sanitary/ storm, sewer, site disturbance activities involving erosion/sediment control measures. Researches maps, records, plans, prior processes to support project data management, using the Compass KC or similar system. Protects the City's interests concerning right-of-way, easements, issuance of permits that allow the construction and operation of systems/services fundamental to the makeup of the City.
REQUIRES high school graduation and 9 years of related and increasingly responsible experience in engineering drawing, mapping, automated mapping, geographical information systems (GIS) and equipment or computer aided drafting and design (CADD), engineering, land survey, construction inspection and related field; OR an acceptable combination of qualifying education and experience; OR high school graduation and possession of the Level III Certification as Engineering Technician (ET) as issued by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or a Registered Land Surveyor's License as issued by the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects. Must possess a valid state–issued driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Salary Range: $21.88-$35.31/hour.
