Two full-time positions available with KCMO’s General Services Department, Information Technology Division, 1101 Locust and Health Department, Digital Services Division, 2400 Troost.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
As a condition of employment with the City of KCMO Health Department, all new employees will be required to submit or provide documentation of receiving an influenza (Flu) Vaccination.
General Services: Leads and manages this critical IT support.
A key part of the IT leadership team that is in the middle of revamping the entire IT service support model for enterprise-wide IT operations. Provides enthusiastic leadership and supervision for team members that inspires positive attitudes, embraces change, and results in continuous improvements. Works in support of the IT Division mission and is a role model for customer service. Provides results oriented continuous improvements using customer service standards and staff development. Manages the service desk and the tools associated
with supporting this key customer service area. Supervises assigned technical staff, evaluates their work performance, and coordinates training. Establishes and measure performance, goals, objectives, and priorities. Provides a visionary in developing new processes, policies, and services geared towards service improvement. Leads process and quality improvement initiatives using team building as the foundation for success. Provides customer advocate for internal and external departments while maintaining strong relationships. Participates in IT Division and external departmental technology planning to meet ongoing business needs.
Health: Leads and manages the work of this three-person Digital Services team.
Maintains and expands department technology initiatives. Works closely with the Lead Developer and IT Senior Technician on the Digital Services team as well as stakeholders from across the Health Department. Works in close collaboration with the City’s central IT Division for continuity of support and ensure the department’s hardware, software and technology policies align with HIPAA compliancy. A successful candidate is a mission-driven digital professional with multi-disciplinary experience with technology, design, user experience,
research, and/or product management, understanding user-centered, iterative design and is skilled at bringing together cross-functional teams.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience. For General Services, Preference given to candidates with experience in help desk software administration and previous supervisory experience.
Salary Range: $4,945-$8,833/month
