(SERVERS AND STORAGE)

Full-time position available with KCMO’s General Services Department, IT Division,
1101 Locust Street.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00
p.m. Provides technical maintenance and
administration of the City's various enterprise IT systems, physical & virtual servers, operating systems, storage systems, and operating systems security that house the applications of HR, Payroll, Finance,
Public Safety, GIS as well as others. Assists with the key part of the central IT team that is in the middle of revamping the entire IT service support model for enterprise-wide IT operations. Provides enthusiastic technical
leadership as a team member with a positive attitude who embraces change and is results oriented. Assists with Architect, build, install, maintain/support and administer over 50 physical and virtual servers and their
supporting infrastructure at the primary and backup data centers. Evaluates new hardware and software system requirements with management and assists in developing requirements and procedures for new
operating systems’ products and new hardware devices. Provides for product evaluation and testing of hardware/software for improvements, feasibility or applicability to existing products being used by the
organization. Supports and administers Microsoft Active Directory services for City user accounts. Manages and maintains systems security and patching systems to insure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements along with best practices. Performs sophisticated problem solving and troubleshooting to include: analysis,
diagnosis, and resolution of complex server, storage, and infrastructure related issues. Manages internal and external technical resources required to support city-wide IT environments. Participates in IT Division
and external departmental technology planning to meet ongoing business needs. 

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience. Preference given to candidates with senior level experience in local government systems and software and/or supervisory experience.

Salary Range: $4,400-$7,534/month
