Full-time position available with the General Services Department, IT Division, 414 E. 12th St.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Completes complex projects in a competent fashion. Provides instructions to end users to effectively accomplish the requested results. Provides task direction as necessary. Follows appropriate processes and procedures for assigned projects. Plans, reviews and participates in the preparation of business application program instructions to solve business or technical problems and to ensure the implementation of those processes for present and future project performance. Makes significant contributions to the success of projects by applying demonstrated knowledge. Performs technical review of work performed by project team. Designs logic for programs or business application systems, prepares test date for unit testing, defines test schedule and test data requirements and analyzes test results. Documents present procedures and operating methods, gathers data for analysis of problem areas, analyzes documents, files and reports related to work flow, and designs systems improvements. Coordinates the activities of staff with other sections, identifies tasks to be performed by additional personnel and provides technical procedures. Consults with supervisors and analysis staff in the design of information systems. Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action in areas that requires an expert level of technical competency. Participates in project teams in the implementation of design/analysis and programming/coding initiatives. Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to train, instruct and educate groups and individuals in a team environment. Provides technical expertise to other members on the team for their technical development. Recommends process or procedure changes. Participates in process and quality improvement. Serves as a key component of the municipal systems support team. Works primarily with technical support, configuration, operational support for the e-Builder construction management, Novatime timeclocks, INovah cashlering and Gentax tax processing systems including IRS electronic file handling. Remains on call on a weekly rotational basis for critical business process support for after business hours support calls anytime 24 hours. Serves as one half of the team that supports these areas. The other team members also provide primary or secondary support. Other team members may also have primary or secondary responsibility for Municipal Courts systems and technical support and assist with performing software updates, system maintenance.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience.
Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month.
