Full-time position available with KCMO’s Public Works Department, Street Preservation Division,

4721 Coal Mine Road.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Maintains engineering activities involving the managing the planning, design, development, construction, renovation, maintenance or operation of capital improvement projects with an emphasis on roadway projects. Manages the cost, quality and timeliness of the construction projects assigned. Performs construction contract
administration duties required to ensure contracts are completed in accordance with contract requirements. Provides knowledge of construction contracts and their constituent components required. Assists with design professionals, construction contractors, citizens, elected officials, other members of the Public Works project
delivery/support teams. Reviews developer plans/drawings. Ensures quality of construction through direct field surveillance and management. Develops 3-phase inspections, Preparatory/ Initial/ Follow-up, and conduct site visits to identify deficiencies and provides recommended corrective action. Maintains quality assurance and quality control of contracts, construction plans, materials. Maintains necessary records and prepares reports.
Provides good judgment to resolve technical problems. Provides input to 3-1-1 requests. Performs snow removal on a residential snow route during winter months.

REQUIRES an ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in any professionally recognized architectural/engineering
discipline as required by the hiring authority. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given for a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. December 2021 and May 2022 graduates conditionally accepted.

Salary Range: $3,957-$6,769/month.
