Several full-time positions available with the City Planning & Development Department, Plans Review Division Long Range Planning Division, 414 East 12th Street.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Building Review Specialist: Reviews plans, specifications, and calculations for building code compliance prior to the issuance of building permits. Assists with code interpretations, monitors work scheduling, maintains on-time performance, and accuracy of work. Interacts with the public through meetings, phone calls and by email regarding code-related issues. Participates in and contributes to an ongoing training program for the department. Performs computer data entry and interact with other divisions, both within and outside the department for the facilitation of the plans review and permitting process.
Brownsfield Specialist: Manages environmental projects funded by EPA Brownfields grants, including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, hazardous material surveys, and site remediation for various private and community redevelopments under the supervision of the Brownfields Coordinator. Manages procurement activities in accordance with city and federal grant regulations. Administers contracts, change orders, invoices, purchase orders, and verifies compliance with contract scope and budget. Organizes and assists with community outreach (e.g., public meetings, fact sheets, brochures, and social media). Assists in grant management activities including preparation of progress reports, MBE/WBE/DBE reports, good faith efforts documentation, and analyses of cleanup options. Coordinates with CREOKC Department to verify compliance with prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon Act, and City affirmative action policies and requirements. Updates and maintains data in the EPA national Brownfields database. Verifies compliance with other federal grant terms and conditions (e.g., Buy American, Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, etc.). Provides support with any other activities regarding Brownfields grant tasks.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in economics, sociology, multi-disciplinary social science or urban affairs, city planning, public or business administration, engineering, architecture, energy conservation or related field and 3 (OR an accredited Master's degree in one of the aforementioned fields and 1) years of progressively responsible, related professional experience in the applicable specialty; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
Brownsfield: Preference given to candidates with experience in project construction and/or field work, environmental-related services, and/or familiarity of government agencies as it relates to grants and contract compliance.
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour.
