ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Full-time position available with KCMO’s Fire Department, Professional Development Division,

6750 Eastwood Trafficway.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the office. Answers phone calls, schedules
meetings and supports fire personnel entering the Professional Development offices. Carries out administrative duties such as but not limited to filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning. Assists in preparing action plans, attends daily meetings, maintains meeting minutes, and disseminates information related to the meetings. Familiar with HIPPA and can maintain the utmost confidentially related to departmental matters. Supports team by performing tasks related to the organization. Provides strong communication skills, verbal and written, and organizational skills. Provides information to the public by answering questions and requests related to Professional Development. Maintains office supply inventory. Prepares rosters for education offerings. Assists personnel in application processes for City, State, and National Registry. Schedule’s appointments and maintains training room calendars. Manages and maintains continuing education databases for KCFD and
Grandview Fire Departments. Notifies personnel of continuing education status and requirements.

REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of increasingly responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Preference will be given to
candidates with experience with the following: Target Solutions, National Registry, and ESO.

Salary Range: $16.05-$24.31/hour
