Full-time position available with KCMO’s Health Department, Communicable Disease Prevention Division, 2400 Troost. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., *telework available. As a condition of employment with the City of KCMO Health Department, all new employees will be required to submit or provide documentation of receiving an influenza (Flu) Vaccination. Exercises high level of independent judgment and initiative. Oversees and leads a Division of 75+ staff. Oversees the investigation, data collection, data and trend analysis, production of reports, graphs, charts, ensures the quality of the record keeping system and provides lectures and presentations on a variety of communicable diseases and other public health issues. Oversees the Department’s clinical, laboratory, and vital records operations. Represents the Division and the Department to the media, elected officials, state and local public health officials, and community partners. Coordinates and assures the monitoring of special projects of public health importance including health equity and public health preparedness. Uses excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal, change management, problem-solving skills and experience working with diverse populations. Interprets and implements policies for overall administration of the Division. REQUIRES a minimum of a Master's degree with a preference in Public Health and 5 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public health; OR a Doctoral degree and 2 years of relevant experience. In addition, candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively with elected officials, other agencies, public and private community-based organizations, the media, and the public.
Salary Range: $7,268-$10, 902/month.
